WHAT TO EXPECT

WELCOME TO TWENTY SIX EIGHT

We realize visiting a new church for the first time can be intimidating. Even scary. Knowing what it’s like and what to expect can help alleviate some tension. Below is what you can expect during a Saturday service.

PREACHING

GOD’S WORD WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE

In the Bible, God told us who he is and what he is like. We encounter him by knowing and responding to his written Word. When his word is preached, we see him. And when we see him, we can be captured by his holiness and love. When we hear, we can trust. And when we trust, we receive his life. What you can expect is sermons focused on the Word of God.

Our sermons work through books of the Bible or explore different subjects topically. They’re usually about forty-five minutes long.

WORSHIP

SPONTANEOUS. LITURGICAL. DYNAMIC. INTIMATE. REFLECTIVE.

Our worship is expressed through music, liturgical readings (pre-written prayers or scripture), and worship songs (new and some hymn-like). When our expressions and experiences in worship converge, we can encounter God’s presence, and are drawn to love him and worship him. When we experience God’s presence in worship, it prepares us to hear what he wants us to hear, respond with our hearts, and obey his Word with our actions.

RELATIONSHIPS

DON’T BE SURPRISED IF PEOPLE SAY “HI”

Jesus is love and one of the simplest ways we can show his love is to be friendly. So, we’re a friendly church, where very likely, people will say hi to you, or talk to you, or ask your name and how you are.

If you need to know something about our services or have a question about our congregation, please ask.

KIDS

JESUS LOVES KIDS

We love kids, and there are lots of them in our congregation. We want kids to know what to expect when they visit as well. It’s our intention to give them a meaningful worship experience when they come. They’re not bystanders. Jesus wants to reveal his love to them just like he does to adults. This means our services are crafted around helping kids experience Jesus through worship and his Word.

Right now, Kid’s Ministry is for ages 0-6. During worship, your kids can remain with you, or if your child is a little adventurous—and between the ages of three and twelve—they’re welcome to dance in our kid’s dance ministry. After worship, your kids may go to the kid’s ministry rooms. If you have babies, there’s a nursery available for the entire service.
