WHO WE ARE
We are a community that extends Jesus’ life and formation into the world
Those who trust in Jesus have tasted his new life. In part. Not yet in full measure. They can truly say, “I was blind but now I see.” And they also carry his new life into creation through the power of Jesus’ sacrificial love. God’s plan to restore is fulfilled through his son, Jesus. His plan, however, is embodied and extended into creation through those who trust in him. Because of who Jesus is, we want to share that good news to the our Boise, Meridian and Nampa community. We want those in our community to taste and experience new life, restored to Jesus. That’s our vision.
We Become Like Jesus, Belong to His Family, and Build His Kingdom
Our vision as a church is to reach the Boise and Treasure Valley area through formation, community and witness. Humans ache for life. A life that matters. They seek a life separated from the horrors of pride, racism, class warfare, depression, disease, hatred, and death. Deep inside of us, we all want restoration. When Jesus entered the world, his life and death promised that humans—and even creation itself—would receive new life. A life that’s indestructible and never ending. Where our attempts and good intentions at personal or cultural reform have failed, Jesus guarantees we can be changed. The world can be returned to God’s original intention. We want to facilitate that by exhibiting Jesus to the world as witnesses of who he is, because we have experienced his restoration ourselves.
What does Twenty Six Eight mean?
Our name Twenty Six Eight reflects the words of the prophet Isaiah, in Isaiah 26:8. The passage says, “Yes Lord, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you. Your name and renown are the desire of our hearts.” We firmly believe this very to be the commission of our church: a body of believers that lives according to the world of God with conviction, truth and love for God. We are a family that walks like the early church did: in whole Bible living, and in extending the Kingdom of God into the world through vision, community and transforming lives by the love of Jesus.
